Ten
things you can do to help recruit others
to support Sam Johnson's re-election campaign

Here are ten ways you — and organizations
with which you are involved — can help re-elect
Congressman Sam Johnson and vote FOR Sam in
the March 4, 2008, Republican Primary and the
November 4, 2008, General Election:
 |
HOST
A COFFEE
Invite friends, neighbors and co-workers to meet Sam Johnson.
We'll even tell you how. |
 |
GET
A YARD SIGN
Pick up yard signs and distribute them to your neighbors,
co-workers, and friends in the 3rd District. You
can request yard signs now or drop by our campaign
headquarters in Plano during business hours at 1611
Ave. K. |
 |
ENDORSE
SAM
Many voters will look to see who else is endorsing Congressman
Sam Johnson. With an opponent in the Republican primary,
your endorsement is more important than ever.
Anyone can endorse as an individual. If allowed, also encourage
an organization with which you are affiliated to endorse.
Just let us know
so we can include your name on brochures and the Web site.
501(c)(3) non-profit organizations may not endorse. |
 |
ENCOURAGE
FELLOW ORGANIZATION MEMBERS
If allowed, ask the top leadership of an organization with
which you are involved to write a letter or send e-mails encouraging
your members to support Sam Johnson. Ask them to vote
for Sam on March 4. Or, put an article in your monthly
newsletter. You can borrow information
from our media resources page. |
 |
CONTACT
THE MEDIA
Write a letter to the editor to The Dallas
Morning News, The Plano Star Courier, McKinney Courier-Gazette,
Frisco Enterprise, Rowlett Lakeshore Times, The Garland News,
other Third Congressional District newspapers along with neighborhood
newspapers. Editors will often use the number of letters received
on an item to gauge the public's interest in it. The more
interest perceived, the more coverage in the future. Review
our letter-writing tips and get
newspaper contact information. |
 |
NUDGE
NEW VOTERS
Encourage our youngest voters (18-year-old seniors and college
students) to take action to improve their future in Texas
... and America. Congressman Johnson is building their
legacy with experience and courage. |
 |
TEXT
OR E-MAIL YOUR FRIENDS
Mobilize your organization, e-mail list or online social network
to remind others about the March 4 primary and November 4
election day using text messaging, instant messaging, e-mail
... or even good ol' telephones. |
 |
CALL
IN TO TALK RADIO SHOWS
Monitor news talk radio programs (such as on KRLD
NewsRadio 1080, WBAP
News/Talk 820 and 570
KLIF). Many of these shows attract viewers who
embrace the same values and conservative principles as Congressman
Johnson. Speak out in favor of re-electing Sam Johnson. |
 |
BE
CREATIVE!
Organize "voting caravans" and help drive or accompany
friends or fellow church-goers to the polls. Hold a rally
or parade, walk your neighborhood! |
 |
TALK
WITH OTHERS
Share what you know with your friends, co-workers and family
members. Make sure they understand that Sam Johnson has earned
seniority and respect in the United States Congress ... an
asset to the residents of our district and to Texas! |
