Sam Johnson backs budget to promote financial security and invests in the future

Today
U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson (3rd Dist.-Texas) took to the House
floor to declare that Congress acts with fiscal responsibility
when creating the budget blueprint of America.
Later
today the House will vote on the Administration’s budget. The
measure is expected to pass.
Johnson
represents portions of Dallas and Collin Counties. To watch Johnson’s
remarks on the floor, go to his website, SamJohnson.house.gov.
Johnson’s
floor statement follows:
“The
President’s budget spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows
too much. This is the most fiscally irresponsible budget in the
history of the United States.
“The
spending levels in the budget are just staggering. Under the President’s
budget, government spending will represent roughly 30 percent
of our economy. That’s not the American way.
“The
right way forward is the Paul Ryan alternative budget which trims
wasteful government spending and lets families and small businesses
keep more of their hard earned money.
“I
urge my colleagues to join me in supporting the conservative budget
proposal that re-kindles prosperity, promotes financial security,
invests in our future, and saves for our children. Let’s go America!
It’s the right way forward.
