Sam Johnson wins re-election
Tonight U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson (3rd Dist.-Texas) released the following statement after winning re-election. A 29-year Air Force veteran who spent nearly seven years as a Prisoner of War in Vietnam, Johnson represents portions of Dallas and Collin Counties.
“I want to thank everyone who cast their vote for me. It’s a true honor to represent you and I’m invigorated by the national results that we truly can make a difference and take our country back.
“It sure is great to be a part of the Texas delegation. We’re a big, strong, and unified group and that really makes a difference. Make no mistake -- the Lone Star State will boast more leaders than any other state in the nation. We’ll work together to balance the budget, cut spending, freeze federal hiring, pay down the debt, shrink the size of government and keep taxes low so we can grow the economy and get out of this economic slump by creating jobs and rekindling prosperity.”
